Professor Renato Migliaccio is not only a 4th-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, but he is now a 4th-degree black belt holder in Judo as well. He has earned many titles at the Pan American, National, European & World championship in BJJ.
Prof. Renato is very into Judo (as it was his first Martial arts) and that is why at Sampa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy, we not only teach Jiu-Jitsu, but we do teach Judo and Wrestling to the kids and adults.
Last year in August Prof. Renato got a chance to watch the Rio 2016 Olympics. In this Olympics, he got the opportunity to watch the Brazilian lady qualify in Judo. And a couple of days later, he had a chance to watch the other Judo guy name Travis Stevens also known as ‘The Judo Silencer’ but this time he saw him on the TV. not live.
Prof. Renato was very happy to see Travis Stevens in the Olympics and was very happy for Travis to get the silver medal as Travis is also an American bjj practitioner learning from John Donaher at Renzo Gracie school in NYC.
Travis Stevens is the American judo player or Judoka and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner who competed in the last 3 Summer Olympics and won a Silver medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics. He had practiced Jiu-Jitsu under the Renzo Gracie, which is the same academy from which Professor Renato came.
He practices Judo under the legendary Jimmy Pedro, two-time Olympic medalist, and the current USA Judo coach. Jimmy Pedro is doing an amazing job in giving up the Judo athletes in the United States where many of them have represented the United States in the major Judo tournaments. Later This year prof. Renato will visit their Judo Facility in Massachusetts.
Travis Stevens is a black belt holder in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under John Danaher. Travis has beaten Ne Waza king & Judo legend Flavio Canto. He is a tremendous athlete in the disciplines of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Judo and holds numerous accomplishments in both.
On 9 August 2016, the International Judo Federation had ranked him number 12 in the -81 kg weight class in the world. And he is also an instructor at Renzo Gracie Academy.
Prof. Renato also got another chance to watch Travis Stevens at one of the booths early last month when Renato was taking his sponsored athlete Richard Nogueira to compete in the IBJJF 2017 Pan American Judo tournament. It was a great opportunity for Renato to see such a legend.
Prof Renato is now thinking of starting an Olympic project at Sampa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in which teenagers can come to get trained at the highest level of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu judo & wrestling. This Olympic project can help the teenagers to compete and participate in Judo and Wrestling tournaments and hopefully eventually presume their Olympics dream.
