Jiu Jitsu is very complex as a martial art but simple to understand as well an effective self-defense system that emphasizes in controlling the opponent attacks by having better positioning and economy of energy avoiding exhaustion during a real fight.

At Sampa Jiu Jitsu we also teach boxing, wrestling, judo, and Krav Maga, in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum. At Sampa Jiu Jitsu schools we have not only kids training BJJ but their parents and other Adults, in fact we have a 50% Adults ratio at Sampa Jiu Jitsu Schools with specific classes for adults and specific classes for kids and teens. We understand the value of not mixing ages in classes.

The history of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) goes back through the Gracie family to their original teacher, Mitsuyo Maeda (Conde Coma) and his training in the Kodokan, the home of Judo.

The overall fighting strategy of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is designed to equip a physically smaller or weaker individual with an effective method of defending against a larger and stronger attacker. When applying BJJ techniques, leverage is paramount, as leverage is the secret to the amplification and most efficient use of force. BJJ also has the most developed methods of fighting while on one’s back, a position weaker fighters will often find themselves when attacked. The innovations of the Gracie family, most notably by grand-masters Carlos and Helio Gracie, and continuing with BJJ fighters today, through constant testing and refinement in the crucible of actual fights, has resulted in this unique style of Jiu Jitsu.

Our head Coach Renato Migliaccio grew up in Brazil and has received his Black belt degree in Judo and Jiu Jitsu in Brazil being today 4th degree Black belt in both styles.

Prof. Renato as he is commonly called in the Jiu Jitsu because of the meaning of the word “professor” in Portuguese meaning Teacher received started BJJ  and receive his black belt from the late Ryan Gracie.

Prof. Renato was also a MMA pro fighter (M-1 Global) and member of the Brazilian wrestling national team having a vast competition experience in Jiu Jitsu Competitions (being 1st, 2nd 3rd place at the worlds, European and Pan American) Judo (Brazilian University Champion).

Our Coach is the Founder of International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu association, an organization focused in spread jiu jitsu in the world making our Facility (Sampa BJJ) a very international Training center with students coming from all over USA, Canada, Austria, Germany, China, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Belgium, England, Spain to learn, train and teach.

Prof. Renato had traveled the world to Learn, Teach and train but mostly to spread Jiu Jitsu in countries like, Azerbaijan, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Israel, Thailand, Japan, Canada, Austria, Germany, China, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, Brazil, Belgium, France, England, Spain. And Lately together with his student and Prof. Martin they have developed training camps in Europe to help teach and form instructors.
